Discover exactly what comes in The Last Ninja Collection + Bonus Games for Nintendo Switch—7 classic titles across 15 formats plus extra bonus games.
Quick answer
The Last Ninja Collection + Bonus Games for Nintendo Switch packs 7 classic titles across 15 different formats, plus three bonus games—International Karate, IK+, and Bangkok Knights—making it a comprehensive retro gaming package.
Why this collection stands out
This isn't just a single game re-release. The collection spans multiple versions of The Last Ninja series, letting you experience how the game evolved across the Commodore 64, Amiga, NES, and more. Each format offers slightly different graphics, sound, and controls, so you can compare or just play your favorite iteration.
The bonus games—International Karate, IK+, and Bangkok Knights—are fighting classics from the same era, giving you even more retro value without extra cost.
What you should consider before buying
If you're a completionist or a retro enthusiast who loves seeing how games changed across platforms, this collection is a treasure trove. However, if you only want a single polished remaster of one game, the multiple versions might feel redundant.
The collection focuses on preservation rather than modern enhancements. You get the original code and feel, not remade graphics or re-recorded music. That's a plus for authenticity but a trade-off if you expect a remake.
Decision rules: Is this collection right for you?
- You love retro variety: If you enjoy seeing how a game changed across different computers and consoles, the 15 formats give you a unique side-by-side comparison.
- You want bonus content: The three bonus fighting games add replay value beyond the main series. They're not just filler—they're well-known titles from the same golden era.
- You prefer modern remakes: This collection preserves original code and aesthetics. If you expect updated graphics or controls, you may be disappointed. Consider a single remastered title instead of a multi-format compilation.
