Everything you need to know before buying LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga for Xbox, including gameplay, features, and what makes it stand out.
Quick answer
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on Xbox is a solid pick if you want a lighthearted, open-world take on all nine films. It offers massive content and signature LEGO humor, but the combat and puzzle design may feel simple for seasoned players.
What makes this LEGO Star Wars different
Unlike earlier LEGO Star Wars games that followed one trilogy at a time, The Skywalker Saga covers all nine main films in one package. Each episode is playable in any order, and the hub worlds are larger and more open than before, letting you explore planets freely between missions.
Gameplay and combat changes
Combat has been overhauled with a new over-the-shoulder camera and a combo system for lightsaber duels and blaster fights. While this adds variety, the core loop still relies on breaking objects and solving environmental puzzles, which can feel repetitive over long sessions.
Content and replay value
With hundreds of characters to unlock, Kyber Brick collectibles, and side missions, there is plenty to do beyond the main story. The open-world design encourages exploration, but completionists should expect dozens of hours of gameplay.
Decision rules for LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga on Xbox
- Choose if you want a family-friendly open-world Star Wars game: The game is rated E10+ and designed for all ages, with cooperative play available locally. The open hub worlds let you tackle missions at your own pace.
- Skip if you prefer deep combat or challenging puzzles: Combat is simplified compared to action games, and puzzles mostly involve smashing objects or moving blocks. Players looking for a tough challenge may find it too easy. Consider a more action-oriented Star Wars title like Jedi: Fallen Order if you want harder combat.
- Buy physical if you want a sealed collectible copy: The Xbox version sold on 8BitMods is brand new and sealed, which is ideal for collectors or gift-givers who want mint-condition packaging. Physical copies also let you resell or trade later, unlike digital-only purchases.
